Shaping My Illustrative Voice

Hello and welcome to my very first blog post!

Over the past few months I’ve been focusing deeply on my illustration practice, making progress every day toward my goal. Around June, I realised that I no longer wanted to pursue children’s book illustration (at least for the time being), and instead felt drawn toward exploring themes of mental health and emotional well-being. Since then, my illustrations have increasingly focused on everyday emotions, inner worlds, and the quiet moments we all share.

Since making this shift, I’ve received so many kind and heartwarming messages from people who tell me they feel connected to my illustrations — that seeing them brings a smile, or a moment of recognition. That’s been the most rewarding part of this change: realising that through my drawings, I can evoke emotions and spark a little happiness in others.

I’ll aim to update this space regularly—about once a week—with work-in-progress sketches, the books I’m reading, little things I’ve discovered and loved, glimpses of my creative space, new materials I’m trying, and any projects on my desk that I’m excited to share. I’ll also share how I deal with creative blocks, self-doubt, and that inner critic we all know too well — and how I try to keep going, one step at a time.

Thank you so much for reading my first blog post. I truly hope these little notes and illustrations can inspire you in some way — or at least bring a small smile to your day!

Much love,
