Hi, I'm Saba, a freelance illustrator and occasional storyteller. I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. When I was 17 years old, I left home and moved to Dubai where I was studying Interior Design at the American University in Dubai. I graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a passion for illustration. I lived in Dubai for 8 years and then moved to Berlin for a few months. Then I moved to London in 2012 and after 11 years of living in this crazy (but beautiful) city, I moved to Frankfurt in 2023 where I am currently focusing on my illustration 'journey'.

At the heart of my illustration style is optimism. I try to infuse every piece I create with humour, warmth, positive energy, and compassion. These aren’t just artistic choices — they’re values I truly believe in, and I hope they come through in my work. I believe even the smallest moments can hold beauty and meaning, and that’s where I find most of my inspiration.

Whether it’s sipping my first cup of coffee in the morning, going for a walk through the neighborhood, or listening to a song that stirs something inside me, I’m constantly observing and collecting little moments that feel authentic and human. These moments find their way into my illustrations, often in subtle ways. Art, to me, is a way to connect— not just with others, but with myself. It’s a daily practice of slowing down and paying attention.

My dream would be to illustrate children's books and to write and illustrate my own children's books. So if you would like to know more about bespoke commissions or collaborations, please get in touch. I would love to work with you on exciting projects.
